My Pledge…

Freedom is both an effort and a heritage. It takes hard work to make our democracy work. And this grand adventure in Freedom is a continuing heritage for our families, children and grandchildren. I take that responsibility seriously, which is why I am running for office.

My issues are the issues of jobs, good government, taxes, the public schools, higher education, highways, prisons, the judicial system, health care, economic development, and seniors.

Freedom is not free. So I honor and support our troops who protect that freedom around the world. We must also be vigilant at home, working together to protect our homes threatened by terrorism and crime. We have to be tough on crime. Public safety is vital. We must be safe in our homes and neighborhoods. Currently, terrorists can merely walk across our wide open borders. We must make it a priority to develop a sound public policy.

As a Representative I value the time spent listening to you, the people of the 54th district. I have worked hard to stay in touch and listen to the community concerns. I have responded to hundreds of your emails, phone calls and letters. Many of you participated in my voter surveys and town hall meetings. Hearing from you helped me to serve you in the legislature. We have a great community here, filled with wonderful, caring family and friends.
